Bringing together the evidence on teacher supply in England:

A collaborative initiative bringing together expertise across schools and Further Education

The Teaching Supply Alliance (TSA) website provides curated, published, predominantly open-access evidence on teacher recruitment, retention and workforce development in schools and Further Education. It also provides links to journal articles, books and chapters that may not always be open-access but that are relevant to the analysis of teacher supply in England.

By bringing research, policy analysis and sector insight together in one place, the TSA aims to make it easier for practitioners, researchers, policymakers and system leaders to access the knowledge needed to understand the teacher workforce, the challenges it faces and develop solutions to mitigate the issues identified. It is hoped that the TSA website will provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ for evidence on teacher supply in England.

The TSA Website is intended to be an evolving curation of the available evidence, and will be updated at regular intervals. We welcome suggestions of evidence that should be included and you can contact us at info@teachingsupplyalliance.co.uk.

Vision Statement

The TSA supports the securing of a robust, sustainable and diverse teaching workforce for schools and Further Education, informed by high-quality research evidence on teacher recruitment, retention and professional development.
